Billing is at the workspace level, not per user — every plan has unlimited users. Every new workspace starts on Free at no charge; the paid tiers — Starter, Growth, and Enterprise — add larger bundled allowances across two dimensions: database items stored and API calls made.
Yes. Every new workspace starts on Free at $0 with no payment details required — you get 1,000 database items, 1,000 API calls per month, and 7-day event retention to evaluate Ptolemy.
Free has hard caps with no overage billing. When you hit the database-item or API-call limit, further requests are blocked and you’re prompted to upgrade to a paid plan — your existing data stays intact and accessible.
Any active record across the ten billable object types: instruments, series, series values, composite values, composite value items, markets, market listings, market listing suspensions, market calendars, and market listing statuses. Archived items still count toward your total.
Requests made via robot tokens, plus the first successful delivery of each event to a webhook endpoint. Browser and dashboard sessions don’t count, and webhook retries don’t count.
The paid plans can opt in to overage billing, with two independent toggles — one for API calls, one for database items — both off by default. With overage off, requests that exceed the allowance fail; with it on, the excess is billed per unit. Higher tiers get lower overage rates. Free has hard caps only and can’t enable overage.
Yes — every plan gets the same level of support, regardless of tier.
Yes. You can upgrade at any time and your data carries over immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Free is available now at $0. We’re still finalising prices and per-unit rates for the paid tiers, so Starter and Growth currently show “Coming soon”. Request early access and we’ll let you know the moment pricing goes live.
